Tom is a versatile part-timer who can fill in ably at third, second and short (he even caught five innings in an emergency in '85) or operates the designated hitter against lefthanders.
Doherty started the 1993 season on fire, crafting a 3-1 mark in April behind a 2.09 ERA. He went on to finish his sophomore season with a team-leading 14 triumphs
