The Tigers sixth choice in the free-agent draft of June, 1969, Lerrin signed after his junior year at Arizona State where he led the Sun Devils to the 1969 NCAA Championship with a 2-year 19-1 college record.
Doyle, a well-travelled finesse pitcher who does his best pitching in September, was picked up by the Tigers on August 12 to help them in their 1987 East title drive. Help them he did with an impressive 9-0 record.
